New Comp Rig
« on: October 01, 2009, 09:54:14 PM »

Well guess I should toss a build thread up for my new rig.

Specs:

Losi LCC
8 3/4 oz / 50 wt front
4 oz / 45 wt rear
17.5T Losi
RS
CC Bec
Airtronics 94780
Rovers white compound grooved
Elite 3s 1700

First thing was first I stuck a gel pen spring inside the shocks to help them from unloading weird while climbing along with adding a 1/4" limiter to the outside to keep my drive shaft off the links.

Next I just cant go without cutting shit thanks to K9popo for another great idea I lowered my seervo down on top of the axle.

Then I made sure my wiring was all nice and tidy

I'm pretty sure the more I drive it the more I will remove weight front the rims. I used the Team Drivers setups along with a lot of others as a combined baseline. ( Yes Nate I read for days and will tune from there  :finger ) I'm thinking more a long the lines of 4oz/35wt and 2oz/25 wt rears but we will see. Cant wait for my new parts to get here since it was kit 000063 so i can flog the crap out of it.

Well redid the suspension and went to play today. After 5 minutes on the rocks I lightly rolled it up on the side and heard a pop while it rested on 2 wheels. Look and here is what happened to me V2 shaft:

Well got my V3 CVD's on Monday along with my 2 stage foams from Nova.  Got the rig put back together last night and got the packs charged. I hit 2 locations today.

Location 1 was a bunch of rip raft on a dike along a river I fish. I wanted to see how it would hold up to binding and the hell of trying to climb this place. Didn't do to bad but felt like my rovers lacked in traction. Decided to go to a small place where I could really test the foams.

Location 2 is a park here in town that has a small are with about 100 feet of rock sized from a basketball to a 6 foot bench in a wall. There are so many lines you can take but most are near impossible to climb. Initial thoughts with the foams I was blown away but had forgotten this was the first time I have ever cleaned my tires. As they got covered with dirt and ran through the paces the traction obviously left. The foams are great but my rig is just under 5lbs rtr and I was left wishing they were just a little bit soft. Side hilling though these babies really shine. Got the suspension dialed in for the light rig now I just need to figure out how to get these things just a tad softer so they will compress a little more on climbs which running the .7 SLW's don't help either with that.

Forgot how hard it is to take pictures while driving because most of the areas I crawl here if you let off of the throttle and stop you fall.
