proposed rule change. Rule now reads after talking about this at nats and with local drivers I proposed we delete this rule as most everyone use's any movement of the tires in a reverse direction as a reverse anyways. this way we get more of the fair call from one judge to another.
7.1.5.2 - Example: When high-centered, Reverse, forward, and then reverse again to rock the truck back and forth will only result in one reverse penalty until forward progress is made.
I've found this happens time to time and I wanted to hear how others look at this. When we talked about this at nats I recall we decided it was really to hard to call and the call could easily change from one judge to another.
As i see it...... if the truck is rocking forward it's pretty much has to make forward progress, so when the tires go reverse it rocks back and it should be a reverse. I have not seen a truck that has not made some form or forward or reverse progress to me in this situation.
I'd like to see this rule changed somehow or better yet removed.
I think if the wheels move in reverse it should be a penlty.
so far everyone agrees with this and should be removed
If by the slim slim chance we would ever goto a 2.2 shafty class if the 1.9 ever started to fade away what would you build one? would it matter if its a full body only or allow bodiless chassis?
So heres the deal. As with every year in the past it's time to talk about any changes in rules you would like to see changed or added to. Please post up any thoughts for changes or ideas.
What's hot!!! Being talked about!! 2.2's or 2.2 shafty class Let's say losi stops making a 1.9 this would cause a problem with us running or getting new guys into them in a year or two after they are not being made and we would need a replacement class, It has been talked about having a form of back up class for the 1.9's in case losi totally drops them in any form and no other company builds a 1.9 to replace them. Anybody have any ideas or thoughts on rules for this class?
What a great time been awhile since I crawled on rip rap. I think I will have to go and practice it some.
Great to have Kenny, Chris, Todd, Jack, and Wayne from the west side come out.
Going off USRCCA RULES here is how the ties are figured out: 3.3 - Tie Scores: ▪ 3.3.1 - Nationals Style: In the event of a tie score the competitor with the lowest score on the final course run is considered the winner. If both competitors are also tied on the final course then the second to the last course run will be used, and so on.
